Miami Herbert Business School offers two summer options for high school students interested in business and entrepreneurship. The Business & Entrepreneurship Academy is a two-week program held on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. You will take part in hands-on sessions, work on business ideas, and work with students from around the country.
The Summer Scholars Program allows you to enroll in two three-week courses for college credit, including business-related subjects. Miami Dade College’s Summer Youth Internship Program for Dual Enrollment - General Business Track
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools Summer Youth Internship Program is a five-week opportunity for high school students in the Miami-Dade area to gain part-time work experience while earning high school and college credit. You will work about 30 hours per week, totaling 150 hours, in a placement matched to your interests.
Before starting, you must complete the Florida Ready To Work Soft Skills certification and the required Schoology course within 30 days of enrollment. After this, you’ll be matched with a participating employer. You can earn dual enrollment credit through Miami Dade College by enrolling in courses like Co-op Work Experience in General Business Internships. If you choose the Finance Department track, you will rotate through areas like Utility Billing, Administration, and Pension.
